A Message from Our Superintendent Mary E. Smith

Dear Parents,

I want to wish you Happy New Year and welcome back to school. I also would like to remind you that there is no school on Monday, January 16. Our staff will be attending an inservice at Whitebead on core curriculum standards and iPAD usage in the classroom.

Our sixth, seventh, and eighth graders will be having their Science Fair on January 17 and 18. We want to invite parents to come out and observe the evening of January 17. Parents are also welcome to the Awards Assembly on Monday, January 23 for K-5 students which will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Whitebead School will be putting a Transportation Bond to the vote of the community on February 14, 2012. This will be a proposed $170,000 transportation bond to purchase two new school buses. Student safety is always a primary concern at Whitebead School and safe and dependable transportation will help us meet that goal.

I want to say a public thank you to Chris Humphrey who graded our south parking lot over Christmas break. It looks brand new!

Sincerely,

Mary E. Smith, Superintendent/Principal
